Consistency is the Key!
The main point of this article is to outline the need for webpages to be consistent in the layout.
If you're able to make sure that you put your page elements in the same place on every page, you will notice an increase in page views.
What happens is that people visit a site, take a snap shot of the first page in their mind and then expect each page of the site to follow the same theme.
Placing your titles, links and text in the same place makes it easier for screen reader users to access, if a site visitor has low vision it will help them to break the page up for easier reading and in general make it a more pleasant experience for any site visitor you have.
If you are selling a product on your site this is important because making your site easy to navigate around means people don't click away as quickly - thus increasing your chance of a sale.
Another tip: Use lists not images for navigation.
If you've got a big site - consider putting a 'skip to content' link on the page.
Hope this is useful
