Choosing the Right Niche and Domain Name!

There’s an awful lot of information out there explaining how to find that perfect Niche and Domain Name.

Well my method is like this:

First think about a product that’s close to your heart – that you know a fair bit about.

Next , head over to Google Keyword Search and type in your chosen product description. For best results ask a few mates how they would search for the product and then enter those keywords or phrases.

Example: If I decide to have a site about WIGS, the alternative descriptions might be hair pieces, toupees, so type those into the keyword tool and see what it comes up with.

One phrase I’d not thought of was before the search was ’Human Hair Wig’.

Next I want to find a keyword in this list that has low competition but reasonable searches each month.

I then look for a keyword or phrase:

· that suggests the searcher was looking to buy this product.

· that has a reasonable amount of searches each month

· that has low competition

I’d then turn this keyword into a domain name. For example: www.humanhairwig.com (As it turns out this domain is already taken)

If that’s not available I wouldn’t settle for any other extension like .co.uk or .biz - I’d just look for another keyword or phrase.

I reckon that most people would add .com to the end of a web address as a first instance.
